Our family has been farming here since 1815 and has grown produce for over 90 years. Apples are our signature crop. We grow over 30 varieties. You can say apples are our specialty!!
Ingredients
6 large tart apples
2 tsp. lemon juice
1/3 cup chopped pecans
¼ cup chopped dried apricots
¼ cup packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp. butter, melted
¾ tsp. ground cinnamon
¼ tsp. ground nutmeg
2 cups water
Granola & caramel ice cream (optional)
Core apples & peel top third of each; brush peeled portions with lemon juice. Place in 6-qt. slow cooker. Combine the pecans, apricots, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon & nutmeg. Place a heaping tablespoon of mixture in each apple. Pour two cups water around apples.
Cover & cook on low for 3-4 hours or until apples are tender. Serve with granola & ice cream if desired.
