Tulip FAQs

Ticket FAQs

When do tickets go on sale?

General Admission tickets will be released 2-3 days before the fields open. It is impossible to predict when the field will bloom but we are monitoring the tulips closely and will provide updates on our social media.

How much are tickets?

Weekday ticket – $10

Weekend ticket $12

Kids ages 5 and under enter FREE.

What’s included in my ticket?

Admission includes parking, exclusive walking access through the tulip fields, and numerous photo ops!

Help! I bought a ticket and now I cannot make it on that date. Can I get a refund or use it on a different day?

Tickets are nonrefundable and must be used on the date for which they were purchased. Tickets are transferable to another person, so feel free to give it to a friend to use!

I lost my ticket! What can I do?

We can locate your ticket using the name you registered under. Please bring your ID with you and we can look it up.

You are sold out, but I really need just one more adult ticket. Who can I talk to?

Unfortunately, sold out is sold out. We wish we could accommodate these requests, but we honestly get so many of them that one more ticket turns into numerous on our end.

It’s raining. Should I still come?

Tulip Experience-

Yes, we are rain or shine! This event takes place outdoors, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Check the forecast before you arrive, and bring any essentials like boots, rain gear, or warm layers.

We reserve the right to cancel the event should weather demand it. However, we will notify you via email and/or text. A full refund will be provided should we have to cancel.

Events-

Please refer to the event listing. We often utilize rain dates when available!

So it is the same as buying a concert ticket? You don’t refund or exchange and you do not offer more tickets once you are sold out?

Indeed. We have to be strict with this policy to organize a safe and pleasant event for everyone.

Do I have to buy tickets online or can I purchase tickets at the gate?

Tickets are required! We recommend purchasing them ahead of time online to ensure availability. Tickets are sold by the time slot to limit the number of people in the fields at one time. If there happens to be availability, you can purchase tickets at the gate but again, we do not recommend waiting as there is no guarantee you’ll be able to get the desired time.

I have to pay to see the tulips? I can’t just enter for FREE?

The Tulip Experience is a unique offering that required a significant investment. To ensure well-maintained blooms and a pleasant, limited-capacity visit, we staff our fields carefully and must charge an admission fee. We appreciate your understanding and support.

Are pets allowed?

While we love animals, pets are not permitted on the farm except for a few specified events.

I bought 10 tickets. Do we all need to check-in at the same time?

Yes! Our software only allows us to check-in full parties.

I’m running late and missed my time slot!

While it’s best for you to come at your appointed ticket time, if you are running late, you can visit us another time that day. However, you may have to wait if we are at capacity. You do not need to contact us about running late or if you are coming at a different time on the same day.

How does the ticketing time work? Do I only have a half hour in the fields?

To help us manage crowds, each entrance time slot is one half-hour long. You must arrive at the farm within this half-hour window (ex: if you have a 12:30pm ticket, be sure to check-in between 12:30-1pm).

Do you allow tour buses?

Possibly! Due to parking constraints, if coming on a 54 passenger bus, someone from your party must contact the farm at least 3 days ahead of time for approval. Each attending individual must have a ticket.

We do NOT permit 54 passenger buses on the weekends.

What’s the difference between the Tulip Experience and the Field to Vase event?

The Tulip Experience is a general admission, walk-through event designed for enjoying the beauty of the fields. Guests can stroll through nearly 225,000 tulips, take photos, and soak in the scenery. It’s a viewing experience only—tulips are not picked from the field, though pre-cut stems may be available for purchase.

The Field to Vase: A U-Pick Tulip Workshop is a hands-on, interactive experience. Instead of just enjoying the fields, guests are guided through selecting and picking their own tulips and creating a bouquet to take home. This workshop-style event focuses on education, participation, and floral arranging, offering a more personalized, take-home experience.

In short:

  • Tulip Experience = walk, view, photograph (no picking)
  • Field to Vase Workshop = pick your own tulips + create a bouquet

Accessibility / Restrooms / Parking FAQs

Stroller / Wheelchair Accessibility

Our farms are wheelchair and stroller accessible as far as farms go. This means, there may be a bit of a walk on gravel from parking lot to fields, and soft or muddy, rocky ground between the tulip beds. In general, most visitors find the experience workable for strollers and wheelchairs.

If you are in a wheelchair, please indicate this to the parking attendants at the farm and they will direct you to the closest lot for you to park.

Again, this is a farm, so although we are accessible, it is not always easy to maneuver. The farm is not paved; it can be uneven and muddy if wet. Because of this, we’ve made sure to place many of our photo op locations on the edges of the field so everyone can enjoy!

Do you have bathrooms on site?

Yes, portapotties are available on site for our visitors, including an accessible portapotty. We also have handwashing stations and baby changing stations available.

Parking

We have large fields for you to park in which could get muddy. Please come with good walking shoes and do not take a fancy low sport car to this event. If you come with a regular car, we do not expect it to get damaged or stuck, but parking is at your own risk. We are not responsible for damage and tow truck costs.

We have designated accessible parking spots closer to the entrance. However, our parking is on a variety of surfaces which may include pavement, gravel, or grass and therefore might get muddy during wet conditions.

What You Need to Know Before Visiting

How much are the tulips?

The Tulip Experience is $10 Monday – Friday and $12 on Saturday and Sunday. The experience does NOT include picked tulips.

We do have pre-cut tulips for sale though! These tulips are located at The Old Garage (located field side) and are $2 a stem. They will be available as blooms allow.

You’ll notice that the pre-cut tulips are often times smaller tighter blooms. This is on purpose! We do this to allow YOU the maximum bloom time as tulip stems and blooms will continue to grow even after they are cut.

How do I pick a tulip? Do I need scissors?

No need to worry! This is an experience, NOT a picking field.

To provide you with the best bloom time, we have pre-cut tulips that will last far longer than the open tulips in the field. We purposely select small tight buds which will continue to grow and color after you take them home whereas the tulips in the field are larger and more open allowing for picture perfect memories.

The pre-cut tulips and a selection of vases can be found in The Old Garage which is located field side.

If you are interested in picking your own tulips, you’ll want to attend one of our Field to Vase: A U-Pick Tulip Workshop courses. These sessions are held in our private picking field and will include tulips, a vase, and professional guidance on how to build a gorgeous bouquet.

Will you have pre-picked tulip bouquets I can purchase?

If time and blooms allow! We anticipate having pre-picked tulips and bouquets available field side but Mother Nature will dictate much of that. We do have plenty of unique vases available at an additional cost.

Photography FAQs

I‘m a professional photographer but I’m coming during your regular business hours. How does that work?

We love that so many of our guests seek out the use of White House Fruit Farm for their photography backdrop. We want our guests to enjoy the “fruits of our labor” as much as we do. In order to elevate your experience and protect our precious crops and property, we require all professional photographers to obtain a photography pass. Please visit our photography policy page (linked) for our policy, waiver, and map.

All parties (photographer included) must have tickets to the Tulip Experience.

Any special events for professional photographers?

At this time, we do not offer any special or separate events specifically for photographers. Scheduling dedicated sessions has proven too challenging due to varying bloom times, weather conditions, and overall field availability.

However, photographers are absolutely welcome to use the tulip fields as a location during our regular operating hours. We simply ask that all guests follow our standard photography policy, which you can review here.

Please note that the Tulip Experience is a ticketed area so all parties will require admission tickets.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing the beautiful images you capture!

I just want to take pictures of my kids! Do I need a photography pass?

You do not! We love that you’re capturing those precious moments on our farm. Please tag us on social media for a chance to be showcased 🙂 Make sure to visit our other numerous photo op spots throughout the farm too. Have you been to the big chair yet? Or the bridge?
