Tulip FAQs
Ticket FAQs
When do tickets go on sale?
General Admission tickets will be released 2-3 days before the fields open. It is impossible to predict when the field will bloom but we are monitoring the tulips closely and will provide updates on our social media.
How much are tickets?
Weekday ticket – $12
Weekend ticket $15
Kids ages 5 and under enter FREE.
Help! I bought a ticket and now I cannot make it on that date. Can I get a refund or use it on a different day?
Tickets are nonrefundable and must be used on the date for which they were purchased. Tickets are transferable to another person, so feel free to give it to a friend to use!
I lost my ticket! What can I do?
We can locate your ticket using the name you registered under. Please bring your ID with you and we can look it up.
You are sold out, but I really need just one more adult ticket. Who can I talk to?
Unfortunately, sold out is sold out. We wish we could accommodate these requests, but we honestly get so many of them that one more ticket turns into numerous on our end.
It’s raining. Should I still come?
Yes, we are rain or shine! This event takes place outdoors, so be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Check the forecast before you arrive, and bring any essentials like boots, rain gear, or warm layers.
We reserve the right to cancel the event should weather demand it. However, we will notify you via email and/or text. A full refund will be provided should we have to cancel.
So it is the same as buying a concert ticket? You don’t refund or exchange and you do not offer more tickets once you are sold out?
Indeed. We have to be strict with this policy to organize a safe and pleasant event for everyone.
Do I have to buy tickets online or can I purchase tickets at the gate?
Tickets are required! We recommend purchasing them ahead of time online to ensure availability. Tickets are sold by the time slot to limit the number of people in the fields at one time. If there happens to be availability, you can purchase tickets at the gate but again, we do not recommend waiting as there is no guarantee you’ll be able to get the desired time.
I have to pay to see the tulips? I can’t just enter for FREE?
The Tulip Experience is a unique offering that required a significant investment. To ensure well-maintained blooms and a pleasant, limited-capacity visit, we staff our fields carefully and must charge an admission fee. We appreciate your understanding and support.
Are pets allowed?
While we love animals, pets are not permitted on the farm except for a few specified events.
I bought 10 tickets. Do we all need to check-in at the same time?
Yes! Our software only allows us to check-in full parties.
I’m running late and missed my time slot!
While it’s best for you to come at your appointed ticket time, if you are running late, you can visit us another time that day. However, you may have to wait if we are at capacity. You do not need to contact us about running late or if you are coming at a different time on the same day.
How does the ticketing time work? Do I only have a half hour in the fields?
To help us manage crowds, each entrance time slot is one half-hour long. You must arrive at the farm within this half-hour window (ex: if you have a 12:30pm ticket, be sure to check-in between 12:30-1pm).
Do you allow tour buses?
Possibly! Due to parking constraints, if coming on a 54 passenger bus, someone from your party must contact the farm at least 3 days ahead of time for approval. Each attending individual must have a ticket.
We do NOT permit 54 passenger buses on the weekends.
Accessibility / Restrooms / Parking FAQs
Stroller / Wheelchair Accessibility
Our farms are wheelchair and stroller accessible as far as farms go. This means, there may be a bit of a walk on gravel from parking lot to fields, and soft or muddy, rocky ground between the tulip beds. In general, most visitors find the experience workable for strollers and wheelchairs.
If you are in a wheelchair, please indicate this to the parking attendants at the farm and they will direct you to the closest lot for you to park.
Again, this is a farm, so although we are accessible, it is not always easy to maneuver. The farm is not paved; it can be uneven and muddy if wet. Because of this, we’ve made sure to place many of our photo op locations on the edges of the field so everyone can enjoy!
Do you have bathrooms on site?
Yes, portapotties are available on site for our visitors, including an accessible portapotty. We also have handwashing stations and baby changing stations available.
Parking
We have large fields for you to park in which could get muddy. Please come with good walking shoes and do not take a fancy low sport car to this event. If you come with a regular car, we do not expect it to get damaged or stuck, but parking is at your own risk. We are not responsible for damage and tow truck costs.
We have designated accessible parking spots closer to the entrance. However, our parking is on a variety of surfaces which may include pavement, gravel, or grass and therefore might get muddy during wet conditions.
What You Need to Know Before Visiting
How much are the tulips?
Tulips are $2 a stem and will be available as blooms allow. Picking will be in a designated location to ensure that the photo op locations remain remarkable!
How do I pick a tulip? Do I need scissors?
No, you do not need to bring scissors or clippers as they are not needed. To pick, simply grasp the tulip stem as low as possible to the ground and pull up. This method allows you to get the longest stem possible. Remember that tulip picking is only as blooms allow and in a designated location. NO PICKING will be permitted in the photo field.
Will you have pre-picked tulip bouquets I can purchase?
If time and blooms allow! We are hoping to have pre-picked tulips and bouquets available field side but Mother Nature will dictate much of that. We do have plenty of unique vases available though at an additional cost.
Photography FAQs
I‘m a professional photographer but I’m coming during your regular business hours. How does that work?
We love that so many of our guests seek out the use of White House Fruit Farm for their photography backdrop. We want our guests to enjoy the “fruits of our labor” as much as we do. In order to elevate your experience and protect our precious crops and property, we require all professional photographers to obtain a photography pass while taking photos during our regular business hours. Please visit our photography policy page (linked) for our policy, waiver, and map.
All parties (photographer included) must have tickets to the Tulip Experience.
Any special events for professional photographers?
Yes! We will be hosting golden hour events specifically for photographers. These events will be outside of our normal hours/normal photography policy. We anticipate selling limited hour long blocks so you can capture those perfect spring photos! More information to come via social media as dates are still TBD.
I just want to take pictures of my kids! Do I need a photography pass?
You do not! We love that you’re capturing those precious moments on our farm. Please tag us on social media for a chance to be showcased 🙂 Make sure to visit our other numerous photo op spots throughout the farm too. Have you been to the big chair yet? Or the bridge?
